D.I.Y. 41 Reasons Why I Love You Jar

This D.I.Y. project is super fun to make, I really enjoyed making it, and the person I gave it to thought it was very heart felt too! I made this for my Mom's 41st Birthday, (that is why I made 41 reasons) my Mom really liked it. It wasn't that hard coming up with reasons, if you really love the person you can think of plenty of reason of why you love them. As I briefly mentioned I did 41 reasons because my Mom was turning 41, but you can do however many numbers you want. I filled mine with Lindt chocolates because I thought my jar was a bit empty alone, plus they are her favorite chocolates.

What you will need:
  • A clear jar
  • Marker, pencil crayons, and pencils
  • Paper
  • Chocolates (Optional)
  • Tape
  • Bow (Optional)
Cut up pieces of paper write on them 1 reason why you love them, fold them up so when the person opens it it will be a surprise. Double-check that you have the correct number of reasons you want in your jar, put a few of the reasons in, then some chocolates, then some reasons, and chocolates basically just alternate reasons and then chocolates until it is fill to the top. I put a label on the jar saying "41 reasons why I love you"   taped it on and I was set to go. I also put a little personal message at the back and popped a bow on top to make it look pretty.

My Mom really enjoyed reading each little reason and knew that I had put a lot of thought into the reasons, while writing the reasons make sure to add some funny ones, I did that and I thought it added a bit of character to my jar. Voila, your quick and easy birthday present.

D.I.Y. Theme Gift Basket

This gift basket may be a little late for the holiday season, but you can still give it to anyone at other times of year. The theme can be different for any gift basket and will probably be different for every person, depending on what they like and dislike. It is really inexpensive, I got all of the supplies except for one at the Dollarama, the other one my Mom purchased awhile back and was going to give it to a friend but ended up not.

I am going to list everything that I got for this gift basket and how much it cost down below:

  • Red plastic basket $2.00
  • Tinsel/garland $1.00
  • Milk chocolate balls (Christmas tree packaging) $2.50
  • Glass jar $2.00
  • Cookies $2.00
  • Wagon Wheels $2.00
  • 3-pack of spice jars $2.00
  • Ivy & Castle sweet pea set $1.00
  • Socks $1.50
  • Star shaped chocolates $1.00 times 2
  • Mints $1.00
  • Marshmallows $1.00
  • Candy canes $1.50
  • Gourmet Village Winter Warming Candy Cane Hot Chocolate (Optional) $40.00
  • 3-pack of Ribbons $1.00

Total - $62.50

This is more of a Christmas themed gift basket but you can put anything into it that you want to. Once you have everything that you want to put in your gift basket, put the tinsel in and arrange everything in however your heart desires. Make sure to try and wrap the tinsel around the objects in your gift basket.

This is a really great and inexpensive, anyone can make it. You can make it for any occasion and as festive as you want. You can also make these for anyone you know, because you can put things inside that you know they love and like.

There you have it, a great gift, low cost, and a happy friend!
